Company Overview

Standard Truck and Trailer Sales, Inc is an agricultural trailer rental company serving the farming the community in California since 1970. The repair shop end of the business is a tight knit and close community of mechanics and repair men who work together on a daily basis repairing, building and maintaining a fleet of agriculture flatbed and hopper trailer primarily used in the almond, pistachio and wine grape industry.

Job Summary

Standard Truck and Trailer Sales, Inc is looking for an experienced Full Time (40 hours minimum to 60 hours before peak harvest approximately 3-4 months) Manager that can repair, service and maintain trailers on a daily basis with a positive attitude (Company Provides All Tools and Uniforms). Ongoing training and oversite is provided but applicant must have a foundation of mechanic experience as hands on work in the shop will be required.

Objectives of this Role

· Maintain appropriate communication with office personnel, staff, and customers to ensure proper operations of the company.

· Track staffing requirements, request new employees as needed.

· Ensure equipment is ready by the contracted pickup date.

· Increase efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company's internal capacity.

Responsibilities

· Maintain current knowledge and compliance with legal and safety regulations for California state and the Federal Government

· Lead, motivate, and work closely with vehicle maintenance crews and provide guidance and support

· Provide timely customer support and communication

· Coordinate off-site repairs for customers

· Offer training for safety, forklift, and new employees

· Oversee materials and inventory including all purchasing of inventory and bid process.

· Collaborate with office personnel

· Work hours are Monday-Friday and up to 8 Saturdays before peak harvest May-August

Required Skills and Certifications

· Five or more years of proven success in a related industry

· Strong skills for oversight and details

· Welding Certificate

· Forklift Drivers Certificate

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check

· Must have a manual-hand-finger dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination

· Must be able to lift and/or transport +50 pounds

· Must be able to work in harsh weather condition during summer

· Word and Excel
