Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient processing and administration of insurance policies. The role manages the team of policy processing professionals, ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, and resolves any discrepancies or issues that arise during the policy processing cycle. They collaborate with various teams to identify data trends, improve efficiency, mitigate risks, streamline processes, and enhance customer experience.
What will your job entail?
Responsibilities:
* Management and Oversight: Manage the policy processing department to ensure efficient and accurate processing of insurance policies in line with company and regulatory standards.
* Staff Supervision: Provide guidance to policy processing staff, including training, performance evaluations, and resolving processing issues or discrepancies.
* Policy Issuance: Ensure the timely issuance of insurance policies by verifying applications, underwriting criteria, and documentation.
* Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and completeness of policy documents and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
* Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on insurance regulations and industry standards, ensuring policy processing activities comply with all requirements.
* Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and issues related to policy processing, collaborating with customer service and claims departments to ensure a positive customer experience.
* Data Management: Manage and maintain accurate and secure policy data and records, both electronic and physical.
* Performance Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on policy processing metrics to monitor department performance and identify improvement areas.
* Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with underwriting, claims, sales, and IT teams to streamline processes, resolve issues, and align with company objectives.
* Staff Development: Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their understanding of insurance products, policies, and procedures.
* Audit Assistance: Assist with internal and external audits of policy processing activities, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.
Work Experience:
* Minimum of 6 years of experience in Insurance Business Operations or Claims Policy Processing with 3 years of experience as supervisor or lead is preferred.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred; Business Operations, Sales, Business Administration preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
* Preferred: Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)

The target salary range for this position is $81,400.00 - $106,837.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
