Job Summary: The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day execution of shop operations (including warehouse when applicable). Responsibilities include maintaining a safe working environment, daily prioritization and scheduling of repair/production activities, management of the training and qualifications for shop (and warehouse) employees, and the management of repair quotation/customer service team. The Operations Manager is responsible for continuous improvement on our plant operations and reduces cost while ensuring all products meet/exceed safety, quality, and service expectation as defined by our customer. This role is responsible for safely getting the right product out the door, on time, on budget. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of shop operations
- Implement safety policies consistent with Company's general policies and any service-specific policies
- Oversee production schedules to ensure that customer delivery requirements are met
- Supervise shop Operations Supervisors
- Develop and manage personnel training programs to ensure people with key skills are available and adequately trained
- Oversee quoting, pricing and maintaining reasonable margin on repair jobs
- Responsible for managing time spent on repair jobs
- Responsible for assessing and providing resources to handle the workload in the shop
- Supervise, develop, hire, and terminate all Operations personnel as required
- Oversee work processes to ensure that internal and external quality standards are followed
- Evaluate outside vendors for services and products for internal use
- Work closely with Account Managers and Sales Directors to understand customer requirements, resolve customer issues, and plan for future work.
- Work with Operations, Quality and Sales departments to resolve any non-conformance issues.
- Communicate with customers, as required, to develop and maintain good working relationships.
- Responsible for maintaining and monitoring of inventory levels to support Services and maintain production
- Assist Quality Control Manager with ASME/NBBI training, audits, and implementation of QC procedures
- Coordinate all equipment maintenance and service work, including preventive maintenance
- Drive continuous improvement on our plant operations, while reducing cost and increasing value
- Assist in developing new processes, products, materials, and technologies to improve plant efficiencies
- Assist Branch Manager with ensuring all budget goals are met
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Safety Council training preferred
- Current TWIC card preferred
- Industrial valve/actuator OEM factory authorized training certificates preferred
- Certified Individual in accordance with the National Board preferred
- 5 years' minimum industry experience
