TCI specializes in International and Domestic transportation services within Mexico, the United States, and Canada, focusing on Dry Van, Flatbed, Step Deck, and over-dimensional freight movement. The company has physical locations in Pharr, TX, and Laredo, TX, offering storage, cross-dock, trans-loading, and maintenance services.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as an Operations Manager based in Pharr, TX, at Transport Continental, Inc.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all logistics operations for our asset-based trucking company. Key responsibilities include managing freight movement, managing staff, and maintaining quality processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Oversee and direct all logistics operations, with a focus on cross-border transportation between Mexico and the United States, ensuring efficiency and compliance with international shipping protocols.
  • Formulate and implement data-driven strategies to optimize transportation routes, reduce operational costs, and enhance delivery times, driving measurable improvements in service levels.
  • Manage and optimize the performance of the companys fleet, ensuring rigorous adherence to maintenance schedules, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, while minimizing downtime and operational risks.

Leadership and Strategic Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous process improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of logistics data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and uncover opportunities for process optimization and enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute logistics strategies that align with broader organizational objectives and drive long-term business growth.

Customer Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Compliance and Safety Management

  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including complex cross-border shipping requirements and U.S.-Mexico trade regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety protocols to protect drivers, logistics personnel, and cargo, while minimizing risks and maintaining high standards of operational security.
  • Proactively monitor and address transportation security concerns, implementing preventative measures to safeguard against potential disruptions or risks.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 6 years experience in logistics or transportation management.

Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. .

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international shipping, transportation, and supply chain management.

Skills: Strong leadership, management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office Suite.

Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel to Mexico is required to meet with clients and business partners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to meet operational demands.
