LHH is seeking an Operations Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a long-standing client in Indianapolis, IN. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation team while championing safety and ensuring compliance to ISO standards and other EHS regulations. You will have the opportunity to lead capital projects, implement best practices, and develop a high-performance team. The compensation is commensurate to experience and ranges between $125,000-135,000 per year plus bonus and includes several medical coverage options, generous PTO, and a 401K program with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee operations and engineering personnel, develop KPIs, and partner with the Plant Manager to achieve organizational objectives
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of efficient operations, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and implement new technologies, processes, and strategies to meet company goals
  • Conduct cross-functional meetings in support of initiatives, develop KPIs, and monitor performance against these measures
  • Effectively manage processes, improve efficiencies, and decrease downtime
  • Identify and implement best practices
  • Write SOPs and standardize practices to ensure consistency
  • Create and maintain bills of materials, component parts, and all departmental expenses
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the financial feasibility of continuous improvement projects
  • Lead continuous improvement activities using Lean tools for cost reduction, quality improvement, improved efficiency, and smoother material flow throughout the facility
  • Prepare and execute capital projects
  • Foster a proactive and positive safety culture and ensure compliance with safety policies and quality assurance standards
  • Serve as a mentor and demonstrate highly effective work habits
  • Partner with site personnel and department leaders and provide technical problem-solving and engineering expertise as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM degree
  • Minimum of 10+ years of engineering and/or chemical industry experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with direct oversight of operations and/or engineering staff within a processing facility
  • Ideal candidates will have experience designing, leading, and completing CAPEX projects from cradle to grave
  • Must have a demonstrated history and knowledge of chemicals, chemistry, and/or chemical engineering
  • Must possess the ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and integrity while executing responsibilities
