Role Purpose Statement LSG Sky Chefs is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our food production and service facilities. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of our food service operations, maintaining high-quality standards, optimizing processes, and managing a team dedicated to delivering exceptional catering services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a proven ability to improve operational efficiency in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Main Accountabilities - Operational Leadership: Lead and oversee the entire operations process, including food production, quality assurance, logistics, inventory management, and staffing.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cost control while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Team Management: Manage, develop, and motivate a team of supervisors, staff, and other operational personnel. Foster a collaborative environment and ensure effective communication across all levels.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that operations comply with all health, safety, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, food safety, and OSHA. Regularly review and update safety protocols.
- Budget & Cost Control: Prepare and manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service or quality.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including airlines, suppliers, and senior management, to ensure customer satisfaction and meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational performance regularly to senior leadership. Address any areas of underperformance and implement corrective actions.
- Inventory & Resource Management: Oversee inventory control, ensuring the timely procurement of materials, managing stock levels, and minimizing product loss.
- Technology Integration: Work with the IT team to leverage operational technologies that improve efficiencies, such as production management systems, inventory tracking, and scheduling tools.
- Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are well-trained, competent, and up to date with industry standards and best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Experience in operations management, preferably in food production, catering, or logistics within the airline or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and quality control standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with operational software is a plus.
- Budgeting, financial acumen, and cost management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
