Offering more than 60,000 products, we serve the industry from locations throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.We are part of the Oldcastle Building Envelope and operate our business to the highest standards of quality and customer service.Basic Function:The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the operation with direct supervision of all warehouse and transportation activities. This position ensures the safe, cost-effective, and timely movement of products, supervising the picking, packing, and shipping of orders while training and developing all warehouse and delivery employees. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily activities involving transportation, warehousing, and related services to achieve customer service, satisfaction, and cost objectives, with safety as the utmost priority.Responsibilities:Create a culture of safety, productivity, and process efficiency.Plan, coordinate, and direct all distribution-related activities.Direct and monitor compliance with company policy and procedures.Participate with senior management in developing strategies to meet company objectives.Establish procedures and motivate employees to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.Implement and maintain cost-effective measures for warehousing efficiencies.Develop and maintain effective inventory control measures.Supervise work activities of others, including personnel issues.Manage day-to-day operations at the Branch.Work directly with vendors, buyers, planners, and compliance areas.Contribute to the Operations Leadership team by owning key projects.Ensure all legal requirements are met relating to H.R. policies and procedures.Consider all options for cost-effective solutions to operational issues.Work with colleagues to deliver Branch team KPIs.Lead and implement key projects within the Branch.Provide cost-effective ideas/plans to improve operations.Hire, train, coach, develop, and lead associates in the Branch.Manage the Will Call business to ensure high customer service levels.Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.10 years of warehouse distribution experience, including 3 years of management experience in a service/distribution center, preferably B2B.Detail-oriented with a desire to follow proven processes.Proven experience managing a labor and transaction-intensive warehouse process.Strong ability to gain trust and create alignment across the organization.Excellent problem-solving and change management skills.Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Educational Requirements:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent field of study.
