Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree from a 4 year college or universityMinimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and trainingMust be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formThe employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouchResponsibilitiesEstablishes and leads operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse/distribution center inventory currentEnsures the physical condition of warehouse and equipment are properly maintainedEnsures work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are submitted to the appropriate personsConfers with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and salesPartners with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requestsEnsures safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and securityEnsures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systemsLeads an efficient and successful operations while successfully mitigating any barriers to successPartners with engineering to implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placementMonitors and ensures facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivity of the distribution centerEnsures adequate staffing, training, coaching and development for employeesReports employees' hours worked to Payroll on a weekly basisProvides hands on management of the distribution center including interviewing, hiring, and training Supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance to create a strong company cultureEnsures compliance with CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and others regulatory certifications as applicableEffectively manages the budget and P&L of the operationAddresses complaints and resolves problemsOther duties as required and assignedThe employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsThe employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditionsEnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
