What is my day to day like?

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our recycling facility. This leadership role is critical in ensuring employee safety, driving operational excellence, and maintaining top-quality standards in production. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing 25 employees by managing and developing the team, enhancing productivity and efficiency, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Your day will include but is not limited to:

* Overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, including but not limited to process optimization and engineering from shredding, washing, pelletizing, scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Responsible for entire production facility, including 5+ recycling facility machinery including wash lines, deodorizers, compactors and other plastic recycling equipment and system components.

* Ensuring the safe manufacturing practices and employee training in accordance with company safety guidelines.

* Monitor production KPIs (key performance indicators) like throughput, efficiency, costs, and report regularly to upper management.

* Overseeing the production of quality products that meet customer and company standards, collaborating with QA/QC teams on improvements and corrective actions.

* Driving maximum productivity and efficiency by analyzing production data and leading productivity improvement staff meetings.

* Implementing waste reduction initiatives and track progress toward continuous improvement goals.

* Managing departmental costs effectively, including staffing, overtime, and consumable usage.

* Handling disciplinary matters fairly and professionally, resolving employee issues when possible.

* Conducting annual reviews and training for supervisors to promote development and growth within the company.

* Recognizing and reward employees for achievements in safety, quality, and productivity.

* Collaborating professionally with all departments and ensure compliance with product safety and regulatory standards.

What makes a person successful in this position?

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

* Experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment with at least 5+ years of management experience.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, factory environment; a majority of the time will be spent on the floor. Some weekend work required.
