This team handles centralized processes that support Business Units across North America. Processes include policy renewal preparation, preparation of required policy notices and filings, policy issuance, new system conversion, as well as various other underwriting and operational support activities.Location: This position will be based out of our Charlotte, NC office. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.Our business, your impact, our opportunity:What you'll be doing:* Manage, coach, and assist a team of Operations Analysts* Track, monitor and balance team workload* Support team and ensure adherence to best practices* Drive continuous improvement and service delivery* Create common, standard processes and implement controls to improve efficiencies and support strategic goals* Provide technical and administrative support to underwriting units including, but not limited to, new business set up, renewal policy preparation, and various policy notices* Communicate with underwriting assistants/technicians, underwriters, managers, VPs and brokers in a clear and concise manner.* Perform quality control analysis of select tasks completed by other operations personnel* Compile data utilizing various sources and tools; investigate data quality issues* Quantitatively and qualitatively analyze performance and complete management reporting* Coordinate team involvement in user acceptance testing of system and new functionalities* Hire and train new team membersWhat you'll bring:* 7+ years of experience as an Insurance Operations Professional (P&C insurance)* Supervisory experience and LEAN management skills preferred* Experience transforming and implementing Operational processes* Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities; process improvement skills* Strong written and oral communication skills* Attention to detail required* Computer skills including Microsoft office, Excel, Visio* Guidewire, Cognos and/or AS 400 skills a plus* Excellent time management and ability to work and prioritize tasks independently* College degree preferredAt Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
