Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Operations Manager will plan, develop, and establish processes to meet all production goals within stated requirements. The Operations Manager will aid the General Manager in formulating and administering organization policies to achieve operational objectives. This role is accountable for managing a staff of production supervisors and the overall performance of the production departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and direct production operations, ensuring schedules, quality standards, and production goals are met.
  • Monitor progress of Key Performance Indicators, including revenue, on-time delivery, efficiency, output, and plan to actual metric.
  • Proactively address and report on variances and establish a problem-solving culture.
  • Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct audits and performance management activities to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Supervise, align, and mentor production staff, including leads and individual contributors.
  • Lead and support training and development activities.
  • Lead performance management.
  • Manage schedules and timekeeping to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conduct and participate in regular team meetings to communicate production goals, metrics, process updates, and other business.
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, identify, plan, and implement process improvements.
  • Enforce and ensure safety standards and regulations.
  • Working closely with the Quality Manager to implement, maintain, and ensure that quality goals and objectives are being met.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance requirements program.
  • Serve as member of the Material Review Board to aid in prevention and disposition of non-conformances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities to include: interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and

disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing.
  • CNC machining experience is required.
  • CNC Programming experience preferred.
  • Mechanical Assembly experience.
  • Software proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ERP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Operational Management, or related discipline preferred. May be substituted by commensurate experience.
  • Minimum 10 years in a production machining environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a related role.
  • Possess working knowledge of ISO or AS9100 QMS.
