Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of all businesses and departments related to the production, planning, purchasing, quality, and distribution of products. The Operations Manager is also responsible for improving the overall performance, productivity, efficiency, on time delivery, and profitability of the site, while at the same time ensuring continuous improvement of the overall operations. Additionally, the Operations Manage will ensure a safe work environment is maintained that complies with HSE policies and regulations.

Compensation: 160k base + 15k bonus opportunity

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules and assign specific duties;
  • Recruit, develop, and manage the Supervisors/Managers/Coordinators of the various departments within the facility;
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and work with the Quality Department to revise and enhance the QMS as new products, processes, and capabilities are added;
  • Review cost center statements, backlog, shipment, on time delivery, lead time, and other reports and performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement;
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures while conferring with executive management, department heads, and staff members, as necessary;
  • Monitor departments to ensure that they efficiently and effectively operate and provide needed guidance while staying within budgetary limits. Increase effectiveness of daily operations and departments;
  • Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operation excellence;
  • Ensure ERP transactions reflect physical transactions to create a “mirror image” between the physical and system transactions in all areas of Operations;
  • Oversee the movement of goods into and out of production facilities;
  • Plan and direct major improvement objectives while coordinating with other department heads as required;
  • Oversee inventory, distribution of goods, and facility layout;
  • Research new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency;
  • Plan long-term goals, developing business plans and managing their implementation;
  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly reports with executive management;
  • Provide input into the annual budgeting and planning process for the organization's annual shipment and CapEx budget with the Director of North American Operations;
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively;
  • Monitor, review, and address personnel under-performance, liaising with the Director of North American Operations and Human Resources, while maintaining proper records in accordance with company procedures as required;
  • Address any staff discipline issues, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures;
  • Other duties as required by management.
  • Minimum Requirements:

    • BS in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related discipline.
    • 10 – 15 years experience in Operations

    Qualifications:

  • Strong background and work experience in Operations;
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power BI;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices;
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects and initiatives;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style;
  • Experience in oversight of budget development;
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace;
  • Maintain a professionally attired dress standard;
  • Excel at operating in a fast-paced, community environment;
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done;
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization;
  • Ability to look at situation from multiple points of view;
  • Persuasive with details and facts;

    Relevant Experience:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related discipline required.
  • Advance degree preferred.
