Job Status/Type: Full-time, year-roundPosition Level: Mid-Level Management Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.Joining our Operations team at Kings Dominion as an Operations Manager means you'll manage the Admissions, Aquatics, Park Services, and Ride Operations departments. The Operations Manager will ensure the safe and efficient operation of attractions, waterpark, front gate operations and the safety and cleanliness of guest areas, helping to ensure overall park guest satisfaction. You will lead a high-performance team and maintain budget targets.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the operation, including selection, training, succession planning, discipline and recognitions of the Rides, Admissions, Aquatics and Park Services departments. Controls the performance and productivity of area managers and supervisory staff as measured by overall efficiency in terms of guest throughput and/or capacity and the completion of tasks and procedures in a logical and timely manner. All conducted with adherence to Six Flags safety standards and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate operating plans and budgets for the Admissions, Aquatics, Park Services, and Ride Operations departments. Monitors and takes action to ensure operation remains within budgetary guidelines. Analyzes operating reports, adjusting plans to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining operational and performance standards.
  • Maximizes the level of guest satisfaction, including consistent excellent quality of service, as well as park and facility cleanliness through operational monitoring and associate training. Reviews applicable policies and procedures making recommendations to improve service and efficiency.
  • Communicates and collaborates with Kings Dominion management as well as management counterparts at other Six Flags entities to review existing policies and standards, develop new procedures and standards as needed and ensure consistent understanding and application. Acts as a liaison with outside contractors and consultants; develops and maintains working relationships with outside vendors.
  • Moves throughout entire area of responsibility regularly to maintain awareness of total operations. Handles and/or assists in emergency situations that may occur. Participates in audits of other Six Flags parks as assigned.
  • Communicates division status on an on-going basis, including operational issues, associate concerns, guest complaints, special requests, losses, and provides any other relevant or appropriate reports to ensure maximum quality and operational needs are met.
  • Monitors equipment, rides and supplies to ensure that staff can perform their duties to Six Flags operational service and safety standards.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Kings Dominion policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates a commitment to guest service in all aspects of employment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in management or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Eight to ten years park operations experience
  • IROC and Trainer Certification required, or the ability to obtain, immediately upon hire.
  • Ability to successfully complete Waterpark training
  • Three to five years supervisory experience in Ride Operations, Aquatics, Admissions and Park Services preferred.
  • Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, and mutual respect.
  • Must be familiar with safety standards, policies and procedures along with excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Driver's license required.
