Joint developments between customers and staff have led to an increased product offering from several hundred materials to the current listing of several thousand materials.Job PurposeThe Operations Planner will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility. Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing jobs to the manufacturing floor to achieve internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Serves as a support function to the S&OP strategy and is a key input to the data driven decision making process. Principal Accountabilities
  • Serves as a point of contact and liaison for multiple departments.
  • Collaborates with departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
  • Coordinates schedule of material moving from manufacturing and/or R&D departments to warehouse & logistics ensuring timely distribution based on demand.
  • Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment and internal resources to anticipate demand for and to utilize appropriate resources to acquire additional supplies as needed.
  • Responsible for updating the due to ship MRP date on sales orders as material is available earlier/later than original anticipated date(s). Notify sales, product management and customer service of any schedule impacts to customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining z-material management to ensure reprocessing and inventory management.
  • Responsible for opening paperwork for scheduled jobs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience required. Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
  • Good computer skills, especially working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lift up to 15lbs.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
  • The salary range for this position is $56,000 - $86,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
