Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Operations Program Associate (Nursing Scheduler) provides complex administrative support to the professional nursing areas of the Wisconsin Veterans Homes at King (WVHK) or Union Grove (WVHUG). This position functions in accordance with state, federal, and Veterans Administration (VA) regulations, and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of Veterans Homes. Responsibilities include determining mandated staffing levels for each shift, preparing and posting work schedules, and assigning work locations for all classifications of nursing employees. The position also prepares, maintains and coordinates vacation calendars for assigned staff; maintains accurate leave accounting for all non-productive time; coordinates staff scheduling between nursing care buildings; and acts as a resource for staff when supervisors are unavailable.

Salary Information
The pay for this position is $21.66 per hour with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
This job does not offer employee benefits.
The position is in pay schedule-pay range 02-11.
This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
Job Details
This position will require candidate flexibility. May require AM, PM and/or NOC shifts and will require some weekend and holiday shifts. Generally, the position will be scheduled 16-32 hours per week to cover departmental needs. Ability to work varying hours and/or overtime shifts is required.
LTE jobs are limited to 1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.
WDVA's Veterans Homes are long-term care facilities. Work is primarily performed under conditions normally found in a computerized office environment.
Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information by their third day of employment.
Qualifications
Minimum qualified applicants will have training and/or experience with:
* Office administration (e.g., recordkeeping, form completion, scanning/printing)
* Microsoft Office Suite
* Working on multiple tasks in a quick paced environment
* Communicating detailed information both verbally and in writing
Well qualified applicants will also have experience scheduling in a 24/7 healthcare setting or other 24/7 organization.
