Job Description Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.The role of the OPM is to oversee and manage the programs/projects within Operations responsibility. He/she serves as the liaison amongst the various functional groups within Operations and as the single POC between Operations as a whole and the balance of the company. The OPM prepares project execution plans, identifies the technical and business resources needed, reviews status of projects and budgets against the plan, manages schedules preparing / presenting status and assesses issues and develops resolutions. The OPM is the cross functional leader of his/her program team providing technical and analytical guidance to the team. The OPM has the ultimate responsibility for cost, quality and delivery on their assigned programs. Responsible for facilitating the preparation of proposal estimates for the Operations functional groups as well as supporting fact finding and negotiations when called upon to do so.Manage Operations performance against the baseline program plan by monitoring quality, schedule and cost performance of all Operations functions.Gather and interpret Operations data, i.e. status, and present it in a clear and concise manner to Operations Management, Program Management and / or Engineering Management.Utilizing departmental standards, generate Operational plans (i.e. Manufacturing, Sales) and schedules and utilize them to provide direction to the functional departments.When necessary, generate ad hoc plans and schedules for activities not fitting Operations norms - i.e. Excel, MS Project.Actively participate in project/team meetings providing clear direction to the various functional areas.Using a general knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards, develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity.Understand and interpret corporate policy and procedure, insuring program compliance.Good interpersonal skills required at all levels of the team, the touch personnel side, to the support functions and all levels of management up to the Director of Programs.Active participation in cost tracking utilizing existing tools and procedures leading to presentation of cost positions, EAC positions and variance explanations against the released budget. Active participation in cost proposals utilizing existing tools and procedures leading to proposal generation and customer negotiation support and development of budgets.Review of project performance against established metrics and development of get well plans when required. Managing forecasted work load- Sales & Operations PlanningWorking with manufacturing review/analyze factory demand vs capacity, capital equipment decisions/investment strategiesProposal preparation, risk and opportunity planning, negotiation supportPerform make/buy analyses, support Supply Chain initiativesInitiate project planning/scheduling activitiesSupport customer meeting – design reviews, technical interchange, production readiness, etc.Manages Operations performance against the baseline program plan by monitoring quality schedule and cost performance of all Operations functions assigned to a programLead for operations during the design process with a focus on continuous improvement projects related to meeting Cost, quality, cycle time, and delivery objectives on assigned ProgramsDemonstrated success in implementing lean manufacturing and supply chain initiativesProvides a single point of contact between Operations and the Program Office for providing program status and resolving problems. Presents Operations status to customer, Program Management and/or Operations Management as required.Manage programs in a borderless environmentCross functional lead responsible for ensuring the factory and supply chain's ability to meet the program milestones and scheduleInterfaces with the appropriate organization within Operations to ensure any changes which will impact assigned tasks have been appropriately scoped, communicated and addressed.Promotes a strong sense of teamwork among personnel supporting various phases of the program efforts.Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship statusRequired Education, Experience, & Skills Strong diplomatic, communication, presentation and negotiation skills –Able to multitask effectively with agility.Ability to manage and report status of projects within a project management disciplineAbility to lead in a cross-functional team environment, with a customer-focused approach, and an aptitude for continuous improvement in serving internal and external customersDemonstrated success in implementing lean manufacturing and supply chain initiativesRecord of success in supporting increasing demand while continuing to meet key performance indicators.Ability to provide strategic contributions while successfully executing on tactical objectivesPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experienceKnowledge and/or experience with AS9145/APQP is preferredProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferredProficiency in office technologies including MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint; VisioProficiency with continuous process improvement methodologies and tool; strong group facilitation skillsWorking knowledge of MRP systemsPrior experience in a military/defense based manufacturing environmentPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $122640 - $208440Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
