Job Description:

The Operations Project Manager will oversee and manage a variety of operational and venue-related programs/projects within Seattle Theatre Group (STG), including large-scale initiatives such as facilities projects, the development of new venues (e.g., Remlinger Farms), labor allocation, and establishment of new workflows/systems/processes. The role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate closely with Operations leadership, Theatre/Venue Managers, Maintenance & Preservation team, ensuring projects and processes at all STG venues, including Paramount Theatre, Moore Theatre, Neptune Theatre, Remlinger Farms, Kerry Hall, and outside productions, are managed efficiently and communicated across all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, processes and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The pay range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 annually. This is a full-time position that is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, and STD insurance, paid vacation, sick leave and personal days.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate operational projects from inception through completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality control. Current projects include Facilities Maintenance Projects, Systems Implementation and Resource Management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Maintenance & Preservation, Programming, Production, and Finance, as well as external consultants (e.g., land use experts, systems consultants) to align project goals with organizational objectives.
  • Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage project charters, plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Track and report on project progress, proactively identifying and addressing any potential issues.
  • Budget Management: Create and maintain project budgets, including tracking expenses, processing invoices, and providing budget reports to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies, particularly for projects with complex permitting or regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve project management processes and operational efficiencies (e.g., analyze lessons learned from temporary and permanent structures to inform future development efforts).
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough project documentation, including project scopes, contracts, permits, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to the Chief Operating Officer on project status.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field. PMP certification is a plus (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in a venue, entertainment, or nonprofit environment.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate project challenges and proactively address them.
