What You Will Do: The mission of the Operations Quality Improvement Specialist is to team up with Production Management, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain and Engineering to resolve quality opportunities increasing throughput and labor efficiency. Individuals in this role will focus on analyzing quality data, lowering cost, increasing productivity, ensuring good parts are being sent to the manufacturing floor, and increasing first pass yield (FPY) through evaluation and systematic changes in process. In addition, this role will manage corrective actions for Operations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead quality/design improvement projects
- Monitor, analyze, and improve quality performance (Scrap, rework, First Pass Yield)
- Assist in the determination of causes for rejected parts and their disposition
- Investigate root cause to permanently resolve product and production issues
- Prepare and present to various levels within the organization the status of Quality activities impacting operations, and develop recovery plans
- Manage corrective actions resulting from audits and customer returns
- Lead cross-functional teams in problem solving and corrective action activities
- Evaluate and improve the efficacy and effectiveness of corrective actions assigned to operations
- Establish and maintain a close rapport with production, quality, and engineering management
- Participates in PFMEA (Product Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and takes actions to eliminate the highest risk items.
- Work collaboratively with the Repair Station to reduce Warranty costs
- When required, interface with Customers to address elevated issues and concerns
- Promote a sense of urgency environment
- Other responsibilities as required
Preferred Education and Previous Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of progressive experience working in a Quality capacity within aerospace industry preferred
- Experience in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
Salary Range:
- Please note the typical hiring range is $150,000 - $170,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
