**Job Description**
Does working with a new-build, tracked military vehicle production program where you engage to support problem documentation, investigation, resolution, and communications sound interesting?
The BAE Systems site in Anniston, Alabama is seeking a Quality Manager in support of Combat Mission Systems' Paladin Program operations. In this role as a Quality Manager, you will support, oversee, and lead a small team of Production Operations Engineers and Technologists. The goal of this team is to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems in a LEAN production vehicle manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring requirements are met throughout multiple processes, but primarily support 1st shift M109A7 (Self Propelled Howitzer) and M992A3 (Carrier Ammo Tracked) Assembly, Garage, and Final in preparation for vehicle sale.
In this position you will interact with various Production oriented working teams (Floor Support, Manufacturing Operators, Engineering, Operations, Program Management, among others) to ensure that processes are in place to prevent defects from occurring. In cases where defects do occur, you will engage to research, document, contain and help to resolve the problem through various methods available to you while ensuring effective communication of needs and status across counterpart support teams.
Experience working with technical and non-technical documentation as well as a sound foundation of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methods is necessary in this role. This position is a customer facing role with regular communication and engagement with Defense Contract Management Agency and US customer representatives supporting program oversight.
Included regular activities, supported both directly and through engagement of managed team members:
+ Attending morning production team meetings and promoting quality concerns and areas of needed focus.
+ Providing support to Program Management meetings and communications to provide and receive information and actions to support issue awareness and closure.
+ Developing or revising process documentation and controls.
+ Developing and reporting metrics specific to Quality.
+ Supporting, and assigning of, priority tasks based on production safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
+ Developing or coordinating training for your managed team and other production personnel.
+ Project management of new process and system implementation.
+ Tracking time and schedules of managed personnel.
+ Leading or supporting root cause and corrective action investigations with the support of broader production teams.
+ Supporting effective planning and communication between Production and required customer points of engagement.
+ Escalating program risks and sharing lessons learned across multiple production locations.
+ Hosting meetings to ensure containment and control of quality escapes when necessary.
+ Progressing a Quality focused culture.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Typically requires an Associates and 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelors degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or the overall equivalent.
+ A well-prepared candidate will be a mechanically oriented individual with experience interpreting drawings, standards and specifications as well as procedures and work instruction documentation.
+ Requires working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control fundamentals, including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
+ Strong background in problem solving techniques and analysis.
+ Proficiency in standard and industry related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
+ Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be able to effectively package details and data collected from Production and its associated datasets and communicate through verbal and electronic means to broader working teams in support of defining approved courses of action.
+ Leadership experience.

+ Quality certifications
+ Experience working in a production program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD
+ Formal training in root cause analysis

+ Experience engaging with a union workforce
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $91980 - $156330
