The Office of Information Technology Services is looking for a detail-oriented Audit & Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, conducting audits, and identifying areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of compliance frameworks. This position is located at the DCF Headquarters in Tallahassee in the Office of Information Technology Services.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Play a crucial role in ensuring the organization's adherence to regulations and industry standards. Regularly review federal, state, and industry regulations to identify potential compliance gaps. Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures. Identify potential threats, such as data privacy breaches, cybersecurity risks or fraud. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring they are robust and effective in mitigating risks.
Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and identify areas for improvement across various departments and functions. Collaborate with external auditors to support their review of requirements and internal controls.
Prepare regular compliance reports for management and the agency, keeping them informed about the organization's compliance status. Document audit findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans in detailed audit reports. File required reports with relevant agencies. Communicate compliance issues and findings to various stakeholders, including management, employees, and external parties, fostering transparency and accountability.
Promote a culture of compliance within an organization. Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant regulations and policies. Implement awareness campaigns and communication strategies to foster a strong compliance mindset among all employees. Provide guidance and advice to employees on compliance matters, empower them to make informed decisions and adhere to ethical standards.
Monitor vendor compliance with contracts and regulations to mitigate risks and ensure quality. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Oversee information security practices and incident response procedures to protect the organization's systems and data.

PREFERENCES:
