Let's Break the Operations Specialist Role Down:

Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage the setting up of new parts, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
  • Conduct audits, maintain stock levels, and manage expired or damaged product disposal for inventory control.
  • Lead physical inventory counts and report findings to the management team.
  • Collaborate with vendors for product returns and recalls and manage invoices efficiently.
  • Oversee IT needs and purchases, ensuring your team is well-equipped.
  • Design and execute short- and long-term operational strategies.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and provide essential support to Business Unit Managers.
  • Oversee the facilities to ensure the maintenance and efficiency of warehouse facilities.
  • Oversee compliance with FMCSA & DOT regulations and manage vehicle procurement and maintenance.
  • Handle UPS and LTL shipments and coordinate transfers between the main warehouse and locations.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, IDEM, and safety regulations, managing accident procedures and certifications.
  • Identify potential operational risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.

Skills You Bring to the Operations Specialist Role:

  • Associate's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in operations, preferably within the automotive or industrial coatings sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience with a successful operational track record.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and distribution operating systems.
