Job Description:
**Job Title: Operations Superintendent****Location: Baton Rouge****RESPONSIBILITIES:**1. Interact daily with operations personnel to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity goals are being achieved2. Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and are reported on time3. Set prioritieswith production staff and make sure that they are carried out as expected4. Develop and execute audits to ensure performance expectations are met by the production team5. Spend time on the production floor interacting with employees to drive overall plant performance6. Manage the proper headcount for the department including adequate certifications for the necessary job positions7. Manage employee hours to meet overtime targets8. Maintain consistency with performance expectations and discipline for the department9. Ensure thorough investigations are completed resulting in root cause identification and preventative action plans in regard to Safety, Quality10. Ensure performance appraisal process is conducted for each employee in the department annually11. Work with the department Training staff to identify, understand and improve training gaps for operations team12. Partner with Engineering/Maintenance to drive plant equipment performance and reduce/minimize equipment related downtime13. Provide reports to Plant Manager and Senior Management as needed14. Hold personnel accountable for their actions or lack of action to drive performance to desired levels15. Act as a liaison to resolve issues/conflicts that arise between department members and/or other departments within the organization?16. Audit procedures and work practices to ensure that there is proper alignment and follow up as necessary on identified gaps.17. Mentor and facilitate development plans for direct reports.18. Monitor work permitting to help pinpoint deficiencies then correct any gaps.**REQUIREMENTS:**1. Strong working knowledge of manufacturing in the Chemicals industry.?2. Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment3. Ability to work well with a variety of cross functional teams to obtain outcomes which drive plant performance4. Strong knowledge of process troubleshooting and must have the ability to come up with novel solutions5. Ability to prioritize multiple competing plant needs based upon available resources6. Good computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft? Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint as well as SAP, and able to quickly become proficient with other software utilized in chemical manufacturing7. Strong written and oral communications skills8. Ability to be available during off hours to provide direction for plant activities9. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and stressful production environment, must be a quick learner and adapt to change10.
