SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging continuous improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company. PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required. 12-hour rotating shift which includes weekends and potential holidays ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (Cost/Quality, Sanitation, System Utilization, Customer Service, Health/Safety/Environment).
- Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
- Function as a technical and business resource in areas of system operations and product requirements.
- Provide performance feedback to team members via coaching and/or other documentation; address performance issues, taking disciplinary action if required.
- Obtain in-depth understanding of technical manufacturing processes and ensure that team is progressively developing technical expertise.
- Effectively track and report manufacturing process performance in critical success areas.
- Manage daily staffing and effective resource allocation to maximize process efficiency.
- Ensure manufacturing process failure root causes are identified and eliminated.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will supervise the operations employees. QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- A minimum of two years operations/manufacturing experience required; five years of warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to plan, lead, make timely decisions and execute strategic initiative.
- Strong Skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Well spoken, articulate and courteous verbal, written and phone correspondence.
- Must have exceptional time management and organizational skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
