Posting Details Position Information Position Title Operations Supervisor Job Description The Mass Transit Operations Supervisor will be in charge of the coordination of area transportation and maintain the Mass Transit fleet as needed. Communication between drivers, transportation staff and the university is critical. Duties include promoting and facilitating coordination and consolidation among social service organizations, clients, riders and government agencies at the site level. Monitor and coordinate transportation for area residents to services and programs as required. Coordinates the routing, scheduling and dispatching of site staff. Monitor and coordinates the maintenance schedule of project vehicles to ensure efficient operation. Represent the project at the local level in areas requiring transportation services. Attend community, social, civic, and faith based meetings to ensure the public's participation in the planning and development of mobility options at the site level. Manages driving staff with technology training with QRyde software for trips and vehicle tracking. Required Qualifications Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide leadership and speak before public groups. Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written reports. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend work. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of staff, community leaders, elected officials, governmental representatives and customers. Possess a valid Mississippi drivers license with a good driving record as verified by the Mississippi Highway Patrol-MVR check and pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with the project's approved Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy and Plan. Candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with some previous supervisory experience. Must possess the ability to write formal and informal reports and correspondence to keep adequate written records of work activities. Candidate must be able to work independently while demonstrating effective time management, organizational and planning skills. However, four (4) years of progressive responsible experience with a public transit system handling the daily operations of service planning, accessible service provision, human service transportation coordination is required. Qualifying experience must include computer proficiency and at least two (2) years of experience at an independent decision-making level.
