**Job Title: Operations Supervisor**

**Job Description**

Meet business objectives for the department regarding safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns. Address performance behaviors; commend and reinforce positive behaviors, and discourage and discipline negative behaviors. Use Quality Network problem-solving processes to address opportunities within the area and engage the workforce for ideas. Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) processes to improve layouts and efficiency. Perform daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates to ensure accurate processing of payroll data. Use A-3 reporting format to document problem-solving activities and observe local A-3 guidelines. Conduct daily huddle-up meetings to communicate business performance and have two-way discussions with employees. Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department. Plan daily workloads in advance. Support colleagues to optimize shift performance. Observe contractual requirements (National & Local). Enforce Shop Rules. Perform daily SOP audit checks. Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process. Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee apprised of all pending activities.

This is a contract position with a duration of 1 Year(s).

**Work Site**

This is a fully on-site position in Superior Charter Township, Michigan.

**Work Environment**

669 Million Sq Ft Warehouse facility. UAW environment with roughly 233 total employees in the warehouse. The UAW leaders and employees are highly engaged, with a culture of high accountability to GM standards and performance metrics (SPQRC). All candidates must be available for 1st or 2nd shift, 6-7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, currently averaging 55-65 hours a week. Shifts are as follows: 1st Shift - 6am 2:30pm, 2nd Shift - 3:30pm - 12am, 3rd Shift - 11pm - 7am (currently runs as overflow in the service warehouse/outbound shipping). Supervisors are expected to be at work 30 minutes prior to shift start time. It is common for 2+ hours of overtime daily. Dress code is business casual with no frayed, ripped, or torn clothing, and no open-toe shoes. All necessary PPE will be provided and are required at all times on the plant floor; no earbuds on the plant floor. Laptop and cell phone will be provided if necessary. This facility is a parts processing center for the GM Dealership network. They receive shipments of fascias and grilles in bulk, which are then staged to the proper areas to be packed into either GM or AC Delco packaging by the operators. The packaged parts are then moved to the shipping area where they are shipped to GM PDCs (product distribution facilities) to fulfill parts orders for GM.
