BBVA CIB Operations Team Manager for US Fixed Income Market
(NY Base, American Markets Shift)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a professional with proven experience in Operations and post-trade execution services in the US Fixed Income Markets. The selected person will be responsible for leading the Fixed Income BBVA CIB Operations team in our headquarters in Madrid during the American markets shift, providing specialized support in key areas of the US Markets, in particular: Management of trades with the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation FICC, management of Tri-Party Repo at Bony & bilateral settlement with US Persons at DTC.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee operational processes of a young and motivated team located in Madrid, during the American markets shift
- Pre matching of trades
- Follow-up of the settlement status of transactions on the different US platforms and markets in which we are present.
- Following up on urgent queries from our clients and Front office colleagues.
- Analyzing and resolving exceptions to maximize the settlement of trades and reconciliations process to maintain the integrity of records
- Assist the liquidity teams to ensure the correct closing of the day.
- Ensure compliance with the mandatory procedures and rules
- Participation in transformation initiatives that will allow us to comply with challenging regulations and to develop our product catalogue faster and better to our current and new customers, assuming a key role in the definition and implementation of the future operational models together with other BBVA functional and technical teams.
- Rotating shifts: From 15:00 to 22:00 hours and from 17:00 to 00:00 hours.
- Management of the night shift team to ensure the training, daily organization and achievement of the team and individual goals
- Coordination with the Europe and Asia shift team and Specialists
Skills / Experience
- Strong technical knowledge: Minimum 5 years of experience in post-trade management and operations roles in the US fixed income market, with a specific focus on CCP FICC, Repo tri-party at Bony, and corporate bond operations at DTC.
- Strong knowledge of settlement and tri party functions in Clearstream and/or Euroclear. Skills in managing transactions and events in custody accounts, particular knowledge in Latam markets for this purpose will be valued positively.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multidisciplinary environment, with a focus on problem-solving and efficient execution.
- The candidate must be able to face continuous challenging processes to improve and expand our customer base and products in the best time-to-market possible
- Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $100,000-$130,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
