Restek Corporation is seeking an Operations Technician I to join our Liquid Chromatography Quality Control (LCQC) department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the performance and quality of LC columns through rigorous testing and adherence to analytical techniques. The successful candidate will needa high level of attention to detail, effective multi-tasking abilities, and a strong willingness to learn about the analytical techniques, methods, and metrics used to test products.This position involves the utilization of multiple instruments that will require significant time management capabilities as well as fine motor skills. Excellent communication skills are necessary due to the manufacturing process times and the test-fix-test nature of the work. This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm after a training period.Key Responsibilities:
- LC Column Preparation: Prepare and install LC columns.
- Performance Testing: Utilize LC and custom software to assess LC column performance.
- Procedure Adherence: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously.
- Material Tracking: Track and manage raw materials necessary for the testing process.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and databases, including Statistical Product Control (SPC) or other quality records.
- Quality Review: Evaluate product requirements and assess performance against quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safe handling procedures for chemicals and equipment, consult safety resources when needed, and follow Restek's safety codes and regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Attend and participate in departmental and team meetings.
- Additional Duties: Execute other assigned tasks as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Work Duration: Standing or sitting 8-10 hours per shift with occasional breaks.
- Physical Activities: Reaching, pulling, fingering, pinching, grasping, typing, repetitive motion.
- Lifting: Occasionally exert up to 20 lbs of pressure/frequently up to 10 lbs.
- Exposure: Work environment may include fumes, odors, dust, or gases.
Qualifications:Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Preferably 2 years of specialized training in a science-related technology or relevant experience. Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic problem-solving using math and scientific principles. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic ERP systems is preferred.
