Summary
The Operations Technician has the technical aptitude, skills and experience to configure access control and video system components for our security integration division customers in commercial, multifamily residential, hotel, educational, government, detention and similar facilities, including new construction and renovations to existing buildings. This individual will work in the office communicating directly with our Technical Operations Team to support access control, video, intercom, visitor management and other systems with occasional field time. The team member will set up and configure new systems, manage daily job staging queues, and troubleshoot devices.
Essential Functions
Monitor and coordinate the staging queue for jobs scheduled to be installed
Repair and/or initiate RMA processes for faulty devices shipped back to Tech Ops
Assemble and configure components prior to field installation, recording time and materials uses accurately, and stay organized
Review system implementation with Tech Ops Team and ensure compliance with customer requirements
Communicate device staging issues with Tech Ops and/or Service teams as necessary
Monitor customer system alerts and report to Tech Ops and/or Service as necessary
Field work may include assisting Service and Installation technicians as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of experience with video and access control system components and installation including electronic hardware, low voltage wiring, card readers, CCTV cameras, power supplies, terminations, and head end panel installation and assembly
Experience in configuring devices requiring IP addresses
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated computer skills including an understanding of networks and topology
Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level and other required tools for installation required
Excellent interpersonal skills, including external and internal communication (written and verbal) skills
Demonstrate a desire to learn the industry that C&B serves
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule when required to meet our customer's needs (nights, weekends, over-night, etc.)
Comfortable with heights, such as working a ladder and/or aerial man-lift
Present oneself in a professional and neat manner
Solid organization, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Excellent written and verbal skill required with the ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time sitting. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Occasional lifting required of items 25-50 pounds.
Work Environment
General office environment. However, may require driving to project sites. Worker is subject to heavy lifting at times.
