JOB SUMMARY

Operator Level 3 must have good technical knowledge and process great manual dexterity. Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics, etc. and follow them with precision. Will use your hands or machines to do the job with great precision and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble advanced high frequency RF assemblies with good yield and meeting production output expectations.
  • Follow instructions on assembly/outline drawings, bill of materials, and work instructions.
  • Use dispensing equipment to manually apply epoxy for staking.
  • Mechanical assembly using small power tools.
  • Solder seal stainless steel housings to gross leak and non-gross leak standards.
  • Use hot plates and soldering irons to solder microelectronic assemblies such as diodes, wires, coils, chip components, and surface mount components.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Meet production output requirements while maintaining high quality.
  • Proficient in building SMT and connectorized products.
  • Communicate with leads, technicians, supervisors, and management when issues, malfunctions, or non-conformances arise.
  • Solder different types of alloys including leaded, lead free, and gold-tin.
  • Solder reflow inside of housings and onto SMT devices such as QFNs.
  • Use advanced assembly techniques such as twisting circuit lines, bend cut diodes, and soldering in place while minimizing mechanical stress.
  • Solder pins, feedthroughs, ribbons, and coupler pins.
  • Perform die attach assembly using conductive and non-conductive epoxies.
  • Build complex low and high frequency RF sub-assemblies.
  • Conduct in-line inspection to identify defects and ensure quality.
  • Utilize MES system to efficiently manage tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college is preferred.
  • Have 5 + years' experience with manual gold tin soldering.
  • Ability to work eight (8) hours under a microscope and utilize hand tools; good dexterity, eye/hand coordination.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Develop speed and accuracy in all aspects.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, safety management, and controls and instrumentation
  • May perform On-the-Job training, as needed

  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small
  • Focus on quality control
