Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:The Operator, Drawing 1 is a medium skill role that will coordinate, set up, and operate different drawing machines to draw various sizes of copper wire and aluminum from feeder stock. This individual will be responsible for the following tasks: changing coils, bobbins, stems, and setting up control panel for speed and foot

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentMust read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plusMust be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of timeMust be able to follow instructionsMust be able to lift up to 45 lbs

PRIMARY JOB TASKS:Make minor adjustments and repairs to machinesSet up control panel for speed and footageDetermine which type of rod to use (single input rod)Being responsible for making the proper string-upsResponsible for completing daily production reportsMust be able to work under supervision and maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor and peers through verbal instruction and reportsPut scrap into the designated scrap binsPerform any other assigned duties

CROSS TRAINING:Will be required to cross-train on equipment within your identified workgroup at your facilityOnce trained in more complex jobs, employee may be required to fill the position in the event of absence or vacancyWill be required to rotate on a set frequency within your workgroup to maintain skill proficiency

QUALITY:Use the company's ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activitiesDo not release products until all quality checks have been passedImmediately report quality issues to the supervisor or quality manager

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Physical activity associated with daily performance of this job include: balance, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, walking and sittingMust be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-control
