Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pulp Machine Operator to join our client's team in Sutton, MA, at a leading packaging company. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining pulp machinery used in the production of paper-based packaging materials. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient machine operation, maintain quality control, and adhere to safety and production standards.Key Responsibilities may include:
  • Operate pulp machines and related equipment in the production of paper-based packaging materials, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • Monitor the production process, adjusting machine settings as needed to maintain optimal production flow and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on pulp machines to minimize downtime and maintain consistent operation.
  • Ensure the proper preparation and loading of raw materials (e.g., wood pulp, recycled paper) into the machines.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet company standards and specifications.
  • Monitor machine parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and speed, to ensure production targets and quality are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and any maintenance performed.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and minimize hazards.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team and assist with repairs as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or training in machinery operations is a plus).
  • Previous experience operating pulp machinery or related equipment in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, machine manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work in varying temperatures, depending on the production area.
