Job Description:
Operator-Materials Immediate opportunities are available for talented Operators-Materials who want to become part of the Johnson Controls team. Due to high demand, we are now hiring multiple Operators-Materials at our Wichita, KS manufacturing facility for ALL shifts. The Materials Operator is responsible for overseeing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within our warehouse and production areas. The role involves ensuring materials are organized, accessible, and ready for use to support operational needs. What We Offer:

What You Will Do:
  • Operate material handling equipment, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Ensure inventory is accurately tracked and reported, assisting in stocktaking and regular inventory checks.
  • Maintain safety protocols and ensure the proper handling of hazardous materials as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of materials for production lines or job sites.
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Record material movement and inventory data accurately for reporting purposes.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of material handling equipment and warehouse areas.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to ensure materials meet production or project requirements.
What We Look For:
  • Proven experience as a Materials Operator or in a similar role.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse management and material handling processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a warehouse or industrial setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with inventory management software or systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy steel materials (up to 50 lbs or more).
  • Ability to stand, bend, stair climb, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods (8+ hours).
