Job Description:Job Purpose:Operators are equipment, machine and system experts in their assigned area responsible for the efficient production of quality products. They operate/change over specified machinery as well as support training others.What we are looking for?Minimum Requirements:High school diploma, GED or equivalent education1 years experience within a manufacturing environment AND/OR posses a technical or trade certification/degreeComfortable with computer and PC software including MS Office and emailPhysical Requirements:Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum 12 hours in one shift).Ability to understand, communicate, read, and write in English.Preferred Qualifications:2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting operating a variety of machinesAbility to operate a forklift/OSHA certificationKnowledge of inventory control principlesExperience with SAP or other warehouse management systemUnderstands production schedules, production computer systems and work instructionsWhat will be your key responsibilities?Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within the areaOperates equipment in a safe and efficient mannerTakes corrective actions in solving problems to root cause levelAssess equipment operating reliability and perform routine blown screens, change of filters, hammer rotations and malfunction troubleshootingPerforms and/or works with Maintenance to complete equipment preventive maintenanceMaintains accurate records of screen checks, batch numbers and bag ingredient track log reportsPerforms all shift support documentation in a quality matterPerforms QC tasks such as magnet checks, sampling trucks and rail cars, unloading of liquid/dry trucks, etc.Demonstrates high degree of ownership for product quality: Performs all standard quality checks and other quality related dutiesUnderstands production schedules, production computer systems, work instructions and production inventories.Support and follow the direction of the Shift LeadMust be able to work at heights while taking inventory measurements and sampling rail carsMust be able to work 12 hr shiftsTotal Rewards:Pay based on experienceOT potentialAnnual bonus pay outAnnual merit increasesMedical, Vision and Dental- Starts day one!Up to 6% 401K matchVacation timeTuition reimbursementShort/Long Term disability18 weeks Parental LeaveWhat can you expect from Mars?Work with over 130,000 like-minded and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.Join a purpose driven company, where we're striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonusMars is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
