About the Role

Join our team as an Opioid Response Nurse (MOSP) and make a lasting impact on vulnerable populations in our community. The VNACJ Mobile Outreach Clinic Program (MOCP) is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, mental illness, developmental disabilities, domestic violence, or aging-related challenges.

As part of this initiative, you'll work closely with the Prevention Resource Network team to focus on overdose prevention, naloxone education, harm reduction strategies, and improving health outcomes while breaking down barriers to care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally competent, evidence-based nursing care in community settings.
• Build trust and provide advocacy for individuals in high-risk situations, addressing complex social and health issues.
• Monitor and ensure the quality and appropriateness of services, aligning with agency and contract guidelines.
• Facilitate referrals and linkages to primary care and support services through strong community relationships.
• Conduct safer injection education and overdose prevention training with the Harm Reduction Team and PRN.
• Complete accurate documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, absenteeism, and appearance policies.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community health nursing (bilingual candidates preferred).
• Proficiency in computer systems and software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities with a demonstrated capability to collaborate with external partners.
• Valid NJ driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
