The incumbent in this position is anticipated to work an average of thirty-five hours per week for seven to eight months of the year, following the Sarasota County Schools academic calendar.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Setting up and performing mandated screenings for vision. Hearing, and growth. The vision screening will make use of the Welch Allyn Vision Spot Screener. Hearing training and screening will take place on audiometers. Growth will be measured with a scale and stadiometer. Must be able to carry all equipment from one classroom to another. Training on how to perform the mandated screenings will be provided.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Basic knowledge of computer systems

+ Ability to carry equipment from one classroom to another

+ Ability to successfully interact with students ages 5 - 14

Qualifications:

Minimum -

+ Valid Florida driver's license, or the ability to obtain one

+ One to two years of experience working with children

Preferred -

+ Three to six years of experience working with children of varying ages

+ Experience gathering information from children

+ Knowledge of state screenings
