This position does not require you to be a Certified Dental Assistant.**This is an Other Personnel Services (OPS) temporary position**Your Specific Responsibilities:+ Travel to Citrus County Public Schools, childcare centers, and summer programs with portable dental equipment to assist in providing oral hygiene instruction. and apply to eligible students.+ Transport, set up and break down portable equipment.+ Assist with preparing orders and inventory control for the program.+ Responsible for cleaning/disinfecting and setup for next student.+ Responsible for preparing dental instruments for sterilization and sterilizing instruments.+ Enter services into electronic medical record system.+ Attends and participates in mandatory training and meetings including staff development and continuing education trainings.+ Provide education to community agencies and the public through community events and health fairs.+ Data input including clinical, administrative, and billing information for oral health patients.+ Enters Ears (Employee Activity Records) within required time frame.+ Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency dutiesincluding but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.+ Performs other Duties as requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:+ Ability to coordinate schedules.+ Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.+ Ability to Dependably get to and from work.+ Ability to provide instruction/education to patients in preventative dental health techniques.+ Knowledge of oral hygiene and preventative dental care.+ Knowledge of sterilization practices .Qualifications:Minimum:+ Valid driver's license+ Ability to work with children.+ Experience working with office equipment, C, fax machines, scanning.+ Customer Service+ Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of anemergency.
