Some positions may work on a Saturday rotation with hours between 7 am and 12 pm.This position may require traveling to all of our locations.An Equal Opportunity Employer, Including Disability.$1000 sign on bonus with no ABOC and a $2000 sign on bonus with an ABOC!Responsibilities:Assist and educate patients in appropriate selection of optical goods for patient's needs. Take necessary measurements, update computer and enter information, post charges, discounts and insurance. Dispense optical goods, perform repairs and adjustments. Assist with contact lens teachings, giving instructions and documenting such. Process all orders for IEC or outside lab production. Final inspect and notify and patients when optical goods are ready to be dispensed. Assist with inventory control. Answer department telephones, provide assistance and take orders including follow-up.Education & Experience:High school graduate.Optical experienceABO certification is not mandatory, but opticians are encouraged to obtain certification.Essential Skills and Abilities:Adapt and fit corrective eyewear, including eyeglasses and contact lenses as prescribed by the ophthalmologist or optometrist.Excellent Communication skills.Optical knowledge to educate patients regarding availability/use of optical products.Computer skills.Ability to work as a team player.Excellent customer service skillsAttention to detail and accuracy.Able to think quickly and problem solve.Able to take accurate measurements.Excellent sales technique
