Wage Range: $22.57- $33.50 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, applicable education and internal equity.

JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Adheres to all hospital Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care. Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the hospital's Health & Healing principles. Performs environmental services and sanitation tasks on a daily and project basis. Assumes responsibility for general cleaning in all areas. Completes maintenance records as required. Uses supplies and equipment in a safe manner. Actively participates in Quality Assurance program.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE :
High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in commercial, non-residential cleaning preferred. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. Bi-lingual preferred. Basic math skills required.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to operate a variety of equipment. Must be willing to perform basic housekeeping tasks and follow instructions with minimum supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Use of personal protective equipment as appropriate, documentation of immunization/immunity against hepatitis B, and training related to blood-borne pathogens is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS :
Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable disease and risk of injury from operating equipment. Risk of exposure to household chemicals and hazardous waste, and MSDS. Universal Precaution, OSHA and MSDS.

All departments, personnel, patients, visitors, physicians and the public.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Light to moderate lifting (minimum of 50 pounds). Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Stands and walks for most of the working day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TECHNICAL
+ Plans out daily work routine for self per OR daily schedule and is available to clean and disinfect each OR at the end of completion of each procedure. Documents on assigned paperwork.
+ Completes work from previous shift; reports incomplete assignments.
+ Utilizes disinfectants in cleaning routine in order to prevent the spread of infection when cleaning in OR.
+ Terminally cleans each OR at the end of the daily schedule.
+ Moves all furniture when cleaning in the OR.
+ Assist with transfers of patients under R.N. Supervision, as needed.
+ Cleans and disinfects all equipment used during a surgical procedure, and then returns equipment to appropriate storage area.
+ Damp mops all hard surface floors daily in assigned section.
+ Vacuums carpets.
+ Assists nursing staff with movement of equipment and supplies into the OR, when preparing the OR for a procedure.
+ Cleans floors, furniture, light fixtures and waste linen or suction containers after each procedure utilizing appropriate OR housekeeping techniques.
+ Maintains a professional appearance; remains courteous and cheerful when dealing with customers/patients.
+ Stocks and distributes room supplies and linens.
+ Cleans OR lounges, doctors sleep area, and holding area daily.
+ Cleans walls, ceilings and vents monthly.
+ Hangs window and cubicle curtains in PACU and ACU as indicated.
+ Keeps floors dry of fluids to insure, patient and staff safety and performs other related cleaning duties as assigned by supervisor.
+ Reports any required needs in assigned section and any unsafe and/or potentially dangerous conditions.
+ Uses appropriate PPE when cleaning in the OR.
+ Maintains patient confidentiality.
