Job Description:

Inputs, verifies, and reconciles all patient charges daily and maintains integrity of patients' medical records during their surgical visit. Assists management in the completion of assigned tasks specific to the needs of the Materials Management and Scheduling departments. Assists in completing the administrative responsibilities of the department including reports, statistics, correspondence, and meeting preparation and coordination. Responsible for the coordination of the Vendor Credentialing system for Surgical Services.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of materials management experience; one year of experience with use of computerized materials management system.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelors degree.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of materials management experience; one year of experience with use of computerized materials management system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
  • Proficient skills in Windows Based Software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation programs. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with internal and external administrators, departments, employees, physicians and managers. Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately. Ability to prioritize daily work assignments. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Strong customer service orientation. Demonstrates initiative in all job related activities.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING

  • Excellent problem solving and/or decision making skills. Ability to react and perform under strict timelines. Ability to exercise discretion and use independent judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to work independently.
