Job Summary and Qualifications
The OR Nurse Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Kentucky or compact state required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- 3-5 years of OR experience required
- 2 years of related leadership or charge nurse experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Specialty CNOR certification preferred
What you will do in this role:
- Assist the Director of Surgical Services with department activities to assure a coordinated effort in fulfilling department responsibilities and efficiencies.
- Function as a clinical expert in the surgical arena.
- Work cohesively with the Director to develop standards and procedures for providing and improving quality patient care.
- Involved in making recommendations and changes to policies using evidence based research.
- Promote strong working relations with other departments in the facility.
- Promote good public relations for the departments and Greenview Regional Hospital while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction.
- Support the hospital's mission, values, and vision.
- Maintain knowledge and support of the philosophy, objectives, and policies of surgical service and the institution as a whole.
