Job Description:
In conjunction with and under the direction of the Patient Flow Manager and Manager of Perioperative Support Operations, provides support and coordination for the daily activities relating to the efficient management of operating room resources. Receives and manages communications occurring within the OR Control Desk to include: urgent or emergent case scheduling, monitoring, prioritization, and coordination of surgical case flow and the assignment or dispatching of support staff to a variety of tasks from OR turnover to patient transport, equipment requests, etc. Assists the OR Patient Flow Manager in managing communications within the OR Control Desk and between all OR sites, physicians, staff, and anesthesia; documents changes or requests as appropriately directed by the OR Nursing Leadership. Manages the distribution of OR support staff to meet the continuously changing needs of the operating room.
