Technology is constantly changing, and our adversaries are digitally exceeding law enforcements ability to keep pace. Those charged with protecting the United States are not always able to access the evidence needed to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism. The Government has trusted in Peraton to provide the technical ability, tools, and resources to bring criminals to justice. In response to this challenge, Peraton is seeking a talented Oracle Database Engineer with expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Oracle databases to provide support on a law enforcement mission critical system.

Operations and Maintenance

  • Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Oracle databases. Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support will be available during normal duty hours of 0700 to 1700 Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard Time (EST), excluding Federal holidays. Contractor support includes:
  • Operations and maintenance of the various Oracle databases.
  • Timely alerts to the designated Government representative when additional hardware or software is required to maintain the availability or performance of database functionality.
  • Support activities throughout the implementations of FBI Program projects to include:
    • Oracle database installation, configuration, and technical support
    • Coordinate and support Oracle database and application upgrades
    • Plan, coordinate, design, develop, test, and implement Oracle database backup and disaster recovery routines.
    • Create and maintain Oracle physical database structures based on logical design specifications provided by the application developers.
    • Provide technical and functional analysis in the Oracle database environments.
    • Requirements Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of operational, technical, and systemic requirements for any required modification to maintain the Oracle databases.
    • In collaboration with the application developers, plan, coordinate, design, develop, test, and execute data migrations to/from Oracle databases.
    • Perform modifications to Oracle environments to support changes to the applications, reporting requirements, and user requests.
    • Development of Oracle databases to support new or current applications, ensuring physical or virtual database configuration and storage needs are met.

Database Administration

  • Experience with database administration for existing database and future database systems:
  • Administration of access control for FBI Oracle database systems
  • Administration of Oracle databases
    • Ensure compliance with established FBI Oracle database standards and propose new/revised standards as necessary.
    • Monitor existing Oracle databases storage needs and perform fine-tuning to ensure the databases are running efficiently.
    • Assist with Oracle database upgrades and patches.
    • Provide support for data migrations from legacy systems into Oracle databases utilizing readily available tools such as Oracle export/import datapump.

Application Express Administration

  • Experience with Oracles Application Express (APEX) and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). Integration of Oracle APEX with BI Publisher.
  • Develop using SQL queries, Materialized views, database links, PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors.
  • Coordinate and support APEX upgrades, both minor and major.
  • Experience utilizing Amazons AWS Cloud environment and to include, but not limited to the ability to create, maintain and work efficiently with RDS, EC2, S3 services.
  • Working knowledge and the ability to maintain Tomcat Apache/Catalina.
  • Ability to work with PKI, server certs, both JAVA Keystores and Oracle Wallets.
  • Knowledge of SSL Encryption protocols and the ability to support both Encryption at Rest and Encryption at Transit.

Database Security

Familiar with the Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) regarding security of databases. Support Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities based on defined Security Division (SecD) policies and instructions. Support may be provided during multiple phases of the C&A process including definition, verification, validation, and post-accreditation.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and three (3) years in software development / engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
  • 6 years of experience with programming and database scripting
  • 5 years of experience engineering Oracle solutions with RAC configurations
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA (four years of equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • Data Modeling experience
  • Knowledge of Data warehouse architecture, implementation, and O&M
  • Experience with high-availability, fail overs, backups, scaling and clustering operational systems
  • Splunk 8.0 or later experience
  • SharePoint experience
  • Experience with leveraging Azure and/or AWS cloud services

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
