Oracle Database Administrator (Min Requirements) •Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Database Administration, or a related field. •Have at least five years of current experience in managing and administering Oracle databases. Note that current experience is defined as experience in supporting either the latest version or the next to latest database version. •Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, effective time management skills, good interpersonal skills, and must be able to demonstrate effective judgement with respect to business and financial matters that affect the work under the resource's management. •Possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must collaborate effectively with other operational support teams. Possess a general understanding of ITIL processes and framework. ITIL foundation certification is preferred. Administers Oracle Software licenses and assures license compliance. •Possess an Oracle Database Administration certification. •Minimum of five years of practical experience as a database management resource. •Minimum of five years of experience in an Oracle Database Administration. •Minimum of two years of basic system and Network infrastructure administration. •Minimum of one year of experience in various Virtualization tools, VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V, and Oracle Virtual Machine. •Minimum of two years of experience with PL/SQL programming using SQL developer, Toad; experience in Microsoft SQL Server database management. •Minimum of two years of experience working in virtualization environment preferably with Oracle VM servers and MS Hyper-V VMware infrastructure. •Minimum of two years of experience with installation, configuration, deployment, migration, backup, and recovery of Oracle application servers. •Minimum of two years of Oracle Advanced Security experience.
Responsibilities and Tasks 2.3.1 Oracle Database Administrator A. General Responsibilities The tasks to be accomplished by the Contractor's personnel under this Contract will include, but not limited to the following: •Propose and implement database management policies, procedures, and standards. •Provide database monitoring and statistical reports using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 19C. Monitor alerts, schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups.
- Coordinate the installation and implementation of database management system software and related software tools with vendors, other data processing staff, and systems users.
- Maintain security and integrity of data access policies, standards, and methods by establishing recovery plans to minimize data losses and system downtime and by performing back up routines for the database management system software and the stored data.
- Monitor database performance and make modifications and adjustments to database architecture, storage methods and management system software to fine tune the database for optimum response time.
- Monitor database capacity and allocate space according to overall needs of systems users, available data storage, and database management system requirements.
- Maintain hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly test backup and recovery process for Disaster Recovery readiness using Oracle RMAN, data pump, and cold and hot backups.
- Provide support in Oracle Golden Gate configuration, implementation, and conflict resolutions for data replication.
- Perform periodic database refreshes, cloning from Production to Development, and Test environments.
- Provide database support during full development cycle of application from design to testing and implementation, on-call production, test and development support.
- Proactively research the latest database technologies and perform lab tests as needed/requested, document and make recommendations by performing return on investment analysis for higher management.
- Create new Oracle databases using DBCA, as per the standards to upgrade existing Oracle databases and/or apply the latest Oracle Security patches.
- Migrate data and database objects from Oracle to MS SQL Server database.
- Migrate and configure Oracle application and database servers to the latest Oracle version as needed.
- Design, build, and manage cluster and virtual machine environments.
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies.
- Manage and integrate various database platforms.
- Manage and maintain Windows, Linux, and environments.
- Develop and implement flexible database management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage and resolve database and application systems failure and provide alternate solutions.
- Train database system users on the use of database management systems.
- Develop database recovery plans. •Prepare statistical reports of database management activities and special purpose report.
- Coordinate the database management system interfaces with other data processing units.
- Troubleshoot problems related to database file space, database software, data flow, and data storage or data access.
- Manage web database security. •Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage access control security systems.
- Provide working experience to implement and manage Oracle stand by databases.
- Provide working experience to implement and manage Oracle database encryption methodologies preferably with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Oracle Wallet.
- Procure, manage, and install Oracle Forms JAVA jar files as required.
- Manage Trucker Verification E-Modal system.
- Manage MPA Oracle databases with Oracle Enterprise Manager tools.
- Provide database maintenance activities, such as monitoring, space management, and support, as well as extended hours of support for database systems when required.
