We are currently seeking for our Victor Valley Material Recovery Facility (Victorville).Organics Operations SupervisorCoordinates and directs the activities of equipment operators, drivers, scale house operators, and all temporary staff. Ensures that the workforce is adequately staffed and trained. Exercises independent judgment when determining workflow, staffing, and monitoring safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Supervises the day-to-day activities of the materials processing, recycling, and transfer station facility, including the sorting, processing, and equipment operations.
- Coordinates the loading of trailers, delivery of organic products, and the unloading of materials. Communicates with Transportation contractors
- Monitors and controls inventory of multiple products in the Organics section
- Responsible for all daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
- Processes employee requests, including vacation, PTO's, etc., and assists with the scheduling of time off.
- Coaches and develops employees by continuously communicating with team members and providing guidance for improvement and recognition of efforts
- Handles and resolves employee relations issues and incorporates consistent and timely disciplinary standards
- Follows and administers company safety programs by conducting monthly safety meetings, and facility inspections and ensuring compliance with all OSHA, AQMD, and DOT regulations
- Investigates and completes reports for work-related injuries and or vehicle accidents/incidents and submits paperwork to appropriate insurance carriers in a timely manner
- Trains new employees on general safety policies, DOT drug and alcohol program and proper use of assigned equipment, will administer corporate policies and ensure safety compliance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Previous experience in a recycling or organics environment is preferred.
- Must have demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain and promote a teamwork environment.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to coach and develop subordinates.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, and ability to effectively interface with the general public and vendors.
- Must have ability to distinguish trends and recognize problems and implement a plan of action
- Must have basic mechanical and P.C. Skills.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable.
- Must be available to work weekends and after-hours.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:- Supervisory experience and the ability to motivate people are required.
PHYSICAL:- Must have the ability to operate a forklift, baler, wheel loader, Bobcat, dozer, and sort line equipment and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:- Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind)
- Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
