Responsibilities
Serve as Organist/Pianist for all Sunday worship services and special services as outlined below.
Serves as occasional accompanist for vocalists, instrumentalists, and handbell choirs as required.
Selects and prepares preludes, postludes, and other incidental music for the traditional worship services and special worship celebrations.
Facilitates congregational singing and worship through the accompaniment of hymns and other songs on the organ/piano for worship services.
Prepares and provides music for weddings and memorial services as needed.
Reports directly to the Director of Music.
Worship Services
10:00am Sunday Worship services.
Christmas Eve Services at 7:30pm and 11:00pm – Times subject to change with notice.
Ash Wednesday service at 7:30pm.
Good Friday service (Tenebrae) at 7:30pm.
Easter Sunday services at 9:00am and 11:00am.
Thanksgiving Service at 7:30pm when the Community Church is host to the Ringwood Ecumenical service.
Right of first refusal for all Weddings and Funeral/Memorial Services.
Education and Experience
A demonstrated record of high-quality music performance is required to maintain the high level of music making.
Organ & Piano
Bachelor's Degree in organ performance preferred.
Mastery of standard organ repertoire and alternate hymn harmonization's.
Accomplished pianist.
Excellent sight-reading skills.
Knowledge of Anglican music and a theological understanding of the Presbyterian church hymns and lectionary.

Steinway Model B
Malmark Handbells – 5 Octaves
Malmark Choirchimes – 5 Octaves
Complete Orff Instrumentation
Vacation
Four weeks of vacation in July and August and one professional day in the Spring.
Substitutes
During vacations and in case of illness the scheduling of a substitute will be the joint responsibility of the Organist/Choirmaster and the Director of Music.
Sick Days
Two weeks with pay – the church pays for a substitute
Extended illness – after 2 weeks, Organist pays substitute from his/her monthly salary
Compensation
$17,000 + Commensurate with experience
Annual compensation will be reviewed in the Spring to coincide with the annual budget and program year
Organist has rights of first refusal for all weddings and funerals held at the church based on the agreed fee schedule.
