Annual Security Report Notice

Pace is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the students, faculty, staff and visitors to the University. In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the University's Safety and Security department publishes an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, which can be accessed here. The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.

The Orientation Leaders serve as resources for students who are making the transition from their previous environment to the diverse academic, intellectual, and social culture of the University. Orientation Leaders are expected to possess a specific body of knowledge about the University acquired through training and experience. They must be interested and skillful in sharing this information with Orientation participants. Selection to the team of Orientation leaders is a unique honor and a rewarding opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Orientation Leader Responsibilities:

* Attend and participate in training sessions for the summer 2024 and spring 2025

* Serve as a positive representative of the University to new, transfer and international students and their families.

* Facilitate new, transfer and international students' introduction to the University by maintaining open and effective communication techniques.

* Promote interaction among new, transfer and international students during small group discussions, icebreakers, meals, and evening activities.

* Answer student and parent questions about social and academic aspects of University life.

* Facilitate small group interactions on various topics at Orientation.

* Facilitate small activities for new students through direct involvement.

* Supervise activities while living among new students attending Orientation sessions that could violate Pace University policy (i.e. drugs and alcohol).

* Work closely and cooperate with other Orientation Leaders and staff to develop, prepare, implement, and evaluate the Orientation programs.

* Work closely with?Student Engagement professional staff to assist and support all aspects of the Orientation program (including Convocation and other selected events held throughout the year.)

* All Orientation Leaders are required to provide administrative support for the program by maintaining office hours each week during employment at the Student Engagement office.

* All Orientation Leaders are required to actively participate in all committee work and meetings.

* Must maintain confidentiality of Financial and Human Resource information.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Orientation Leaders must attend the mandatory training

Dress Code: Employees are expected to dress either in Polo and/or T-shirt unless the day's tasks require otherwise. Orientation Leaders must always present a clean, professional appearance. Clothing should be moderately appropriate for the job you are performing.

Stipend: Orientation Leaders will be paid $2,000 and $300 Flex Dollars

* Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.

* Maintain a productive work environment; no misuse of alcohol and drugs around Pace University that can be considered a threat to the health and safety of employees and students during any responsibilities of your position (i.e. office hours, training, sessions, etc.)

* Greet all students and complete established procedures for the check-in process.

* Present the student with timely and accurate services.

* Operate telephone equipment by accepting incoming calls and transferring calls to provide students with timely and efficient service.

* Courteously answer inquiries, both in person and by telephone, by accurately communicating about events, processes, and other campus information.

* Maintain good student relations, in person and on the telephone, by keeping abreast of all functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses.

* Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management, Pro-Staff, & Graduate Assistants.
