Job DescriptionNemours is looking for a Orthopedics Clinical Services Specialist for our Wilmington location. This position will be for Mon-Fri days and based primarily in Wilmington; however, will cover satellites when needed.The Orthopedic Clinical Services Specialist possesses advanced skills, knowledge, and experience with Orthopedic clinical and administrative services. The position serves as a liaison between the patient and the physician and is responsible for coordinating patient flow in the ambulatory setting and providing real-time charting for Practitioners by shadowing them in the clinic. The Orthopaedic Clinical Services Specialist performs a variety of clinical and administrative tasks including, but not limited to, data collection for patient intake, preparing patient for provider visit, and assisting provider during basic procedures. The Orthopaedic Clinical Services Specialist may also be required to perform appointment check-in, check-out, and scheduling, in addition to various clinical and administrative tasks which will be assigned to them by their manager or the physician to which they are assigned.As part of your role, you will be required to support clinics at various Nemours locations in the Delaware Valley.Responsibilities:
  • Shadows the medical provider during the medical exam and records the details in the medical record.
  • Prepares patient for and assists provider with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Answers patient questions and phone calls and coordinates with internal and external ancillary departments.
  • Prepares exam rooms, clinic equipment, and computer for patient visit; maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Performs and documents patient communication and intake information (may include height, weight, head and abdominal circumference, blood pressure, vision and hearing screening, pulse oximetry) accurately and appropriately.
  • Conducts Family Education Assessment, pain question, and medication reconciliation.
  • Documents reason for visit, chief complaint, and enters orders as appropriate.
  • Performs point of care testing.
  • Performs appointment check-in, check-out, and scheduling as needed, as well as other administrative and clinical tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager or physician within legal (including federal and state statutes, regulations, opinions, and rulings) and ethical boundaries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Medical Assistant Certification: acceptable certifications are (CMA), (RMA) Registered Medical Assistant. (NCMA) National Certified Medical Assistant, Patient Care Tech (PCT), (CCMA) Clinical Medical Assistant, Orthopedic Tech, Cast Technician, (CNA),(EMT),or Language Interpreter cert required
    • Medical Scribe certification preferred
    • 1-3 years of experience preferred; 0-6 months experience is acceptable based on the managers discretion
