POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, Orthopedic Service Line Clinical Coordinator, and provides leadership, vision, and direction for Waterbury Health's Orthopedic, Bone Health, and other surgical services. This position drives operational components and strategy across continuum of care. A key component of this role involves monitoring and proactively planning to achieve performance targets, with an emphasis on those related to patient access, patient acquisition & retention, referrals and quality outcomes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for identifying and developing new clinical programs consistent with market opportunity, patient need and financial feasibility across the enterprise. Accountable for programmatic business plan implementations pending appropriate approvals.Achieve nationally recognized quality and safety metrics and provides support for accreditations.Collaborates with the medical staff and other departments to solve problems and achieve goals.- Act as a liaison patient/ Orthopedic surgeon.Act as a point of contact for primary care and specialist referral mechanisms.Responsible for Total Joint Class.Prepares and runs Ortho Section meetings (Tuesday/Thursday).Evaluates and sets up Bone Health Program.Lymphedema clinic, Wound clinic liaison.Provides outreach to Sports Medicine AD, OT, Trainers.Develop marketing and educational forums.Ensures Quinnipiac Medical affiliation compliance.Sets up Urgent Care Program for Ortho.Develop employee worker compensation program for Waterbury Health & City of WaterburyManages Trauma Schedule.REQUIREMENTS:Demonstrate ability to execute strategies to enhance and grow new programs while improving the patient experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a large and diverse constituency, including Waterbury Health leaders, service line providers and staff, representatives of other Waterbury Health departments and vendorsBachelors degree requiredLicensed Registered Nurse in the State of ConnecticutStrong ability to participate in the problem-solving process and possess critical thinking skillsAbility to accurately and concisely disseminate information in both written and verbal formatsOutstanding organizational skills necessary to manage many competing timetables and responsibilitiesAbility to consistently meet established deadlines for deliverable or activitiesMust possess superb organizational skills, attention to detail, computer skills and ability to multi-taskSelf-motivated with strong initiative to learnStrong leadership, facilitation, coaching and networking skillsPromote a culture of continuous discovery and forward movementDisclaimer: Job descriptions are not intended, nor should they be construed to be, exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with the job.
