We are a growing organization and have immediate openings for eager and driven professionals at our Newport Beach location.This position is for a full- time Orthopedic Technician/Certified Athletic Trainer, responsible for all aspects of providing quality orthopedic care relating to casting including, but not limited to: care in the cast room for patients requiring immobilization including: applying, removing and assessing need for change of all types of orthopedic immobilization devices. The Orthopedic Technician/Certified Athletic Trainer also covers the back office and fills in for Medical Assistants, if needed. Individual must possess the ability to work independently, perform multiple tasks, work as a team to accomplish practice goals, and maintain strong organizational skills.RESPONSIBILITIES:Casting:
- Prepares and positions patient for casting procedure, alerts physician of patient discomfort.
- Fits patient for DME
- Performs routine examination and treatment procedures to include removing casts, cleaning wounds and applying medication and dressings.
- Removes whole and broken casts and alters position of cast to change setting of patient's limb or body part as directed.
- Updates patient records to reflect up-to-date patient progress, care plans and related orthopedic data prescribed by physician.
- Assembles metal or fiberglass material to make orthopedic splints.
- Instructs patients in cast wear, wound care, swelling and how to remove and apply splints.
- Adjusts crutches and canes to fit patient; assists patients in walking with casts, braces and crutches.
- All other duties as assigned.
Clinical Support (as needed):
- Puts charts up for physician when patient is ready in exam room.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Prepares and maintains exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Insures cleanliness.
- Prepares for the day by assuring that all equipment, medical records, test results and films are available for the physician.
- Assists physicians during examinations and minor procedures as directed by the physician. May perform suture/stitch removal and dressing removal/applications, remove and apply casts and splints, etc.
- Obtains and reviews all test results and reports ordered by physician. Presents abnormal results to physician for immediate review, assures all results and reports are in the medical record for physician to review and approve.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Certificate from an undergraduate or technical school (Medical Assistant, Certified Athletic Trainer, Orthopedic Technician).
- Minimum two (2) years' experience as an Orthopedic Technician preferred.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with orthopedic equipment and devices
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
