Best One Tire & Service/S&S Firestone, Inc. is a leading provider of products and services to trucking companies and related industries, serving the Charleston, WV area markets. We are looking to add an OTR (Off-The-Road) Tire Road Service Technician to our team.Summary:The employee will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair for off-the-road equipment (construction, earthmoving, mining, farm, etc.) as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle required for the position and be able to meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
  • Operation of a 55,000-pound OTR Service Boom Truck.
  • Follow established procedures to inspect tires and wheels before and after service.
  • Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Document work performed accurately and according to company policy.
  • Operation of heavy-duty tire service equipment and tools including boom cranes, cribbing, jacks, compressors, and electric and hydraulic equipment.
  • Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to equipment, using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools.
  • Mount and dismount any type of off-the-road tire including but not limited to multi-piece rims.
  • Match mating of dual assemblies.
  • Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size, ply, and load requirement.
  • Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
  • Perform service calls on nights and/or weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Proper maintenance of assigned service vehicles including an appearance as well as onboard service equipment and tools.
  • Compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety requirements pertaining to this position.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. Job duties may be done at Best One Tire location, at customer locations, and on service calls at customer work sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, there for exposure to heat and cold is to be expected. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.We offer:

  • Mechanical- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses repair, and maintenance.
  • Operation and Control- Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalency, and/or related experience is preferred but not required. OTR service training and certifications are preferred but not required.Age: We have a minimum, driving age of 23 years old.Salary Description $22-$26/hour
